Northwest Florida hotels offer a wide range of lodging options.
Humm, 5-star luxury retreat, a quaint b&b, or a cozy beach house, it’s so hard to choose. There's a wide range of possibilities for your Gulf Coast vacation and so much of it depends on how you want to spend your time here.
Couples may want an intimate, romantic hideaway. Family reunion organizers will want lots of space and nearby things to do, and outdoor enthusiasts will want to hit the hiking trails early. Let's face it, the choices for lodging are endless.
Much depends on your destination. If you’re headed to Tallahassee to tour the capital or for a Florida State Seminoles game, you’ll find downtown boutique hotels that overlook the capitol building or places to stay near campus that put you close to all the game-day action. You can even rest your head in an authentic English bed and breakfast.
Pensacola, with its historic Seville Square, also offers quaint bed and breakfast inns, some overlooking the bay, as well as beachfront accommodations on Pensacola Beach.
Further east, Destin and Panama City Beach both have a variety of family-friendly beachfront hotels and full service resorts, as well as condos and other vacation rentals. There are also several outstanding tennis and golf resorts in the region.
The Beaches of South Walton’s collection of 16 cozy beach towns showcases the new urbanism communities of Seaside, Watercolor, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, and WaterSound Beach, which were designed to be pedestrian and bicycle friendly.
The largest resort in SoWal is Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, which offers over 1200 accommodations in 30 different settings.
The region is also popular with brides who are looking for the perfect destination wedding venue, and weddings take place regularly all along the nearly 250 miles of beaches as well as inland parks and gardens.
Head to Apalachicola for the oysters, to Quincy for the antiques, and to Port St. Joe for scallops and you'll find great accommodations for your stay.
If you prefer roughing it, there are more than 20 state and national parks in the region with lodging. Some offer primitive campsites, while others offer cabins with electricity and shower facilities, and still others can accommodate RV’s. There are also some pet friendly accommodations in the region.
In short, whatever you’re looking for in lodging choices you’re sure to find what you need just where you need it. So open the window and let in that gulf breeze for a great night’s sleep.
