Northwest Florida October Events include seafood, music, and a rodeo.

The month kicks off with the Destin Seafood Festival and opening day for the Destin Fishing Rodeo, a month-long tournament with prizes and fun.

The Annual Art & Wine Weekend on Pensacola Beach features great wine and artists exhibiting their works, and the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival features food and country music.

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is home to the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival, great fun for brew-lovers and the St. Marks Stone Crab Festival will satisfy your taste buds for this delectable crustacean.

Put on your boots and western wear for the Annual Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo in Bonifay, one of Florida's longest-running festivals.

71st Annual Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo

Date: October 1-3, 2015
Hours: 7:30 p.m., gates open at 5:30 p.m., Rodeo Parade Friday and Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Where: Memorial Field, Bonifay (U. S. Highway 90 and highway 79 north of I-10) in Holmes County

Bonifay goes western when the Rodeo comes to town. This annual professional rodeo, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Bonifay, brings professional rodeo stars in for three days of ropin', ridin' and clownin'. A PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) sanctioned rodeo, the event includes parades on Friday and Saturday and children's activities. The Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo normally draws more than 25,000 rodeo fans and is one of the longest running festivals in Florida.

19th Annual Florida Scallop & Music Festival

Date: October 2 & 3, 2015
Hours: Friday - Gates open 5:00 p.m., Battle of the Bands begins at 6:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.(Eastern Time Zone)
Where: Port St. Joe
Cost: General Admission $5 each day. Children 6 and under and military personnel with valid I.D. are free.

Over 80 Arts & Crafts and food vendors, children's activities, live music and lots of fresh bay scallops all add up to two days of fun and good eating at this annual celebration of this tasty mollusk. Saturday night's concert features national recording artist Phil Vassar.

37th Annual Destin Seafood Festival

Date: October 2-4, 2015
Hours: Friday 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Overlooking the Destin Harbor, Highway 98 in Destin

One of the best known October events takes place in Destin. Each year seafood lovers to bring their appetites and help kick-off the month-long Destin Fishing Rodeo. This year's celebration of the rich maritime history of the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village" includes three stages with bands that will rock the dock with live music. Kids' activities, arts and crafts booths, artists displaying their work and lots of fresh gulf seafood make this 3-day festival a must-do fall event.

7th Annual Corn Maze and Fall Fun Festival

Date: October 3, 2015 to November 1, 2015
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What's more fun than a barrel of monkeys? How about a farm full of corn. This am-maze-ing event only happens once a year at the end of the growing season. Take the maze challenge. Can you find your way out? There are hayrides, farm animals and children's activities galore. 

26th Annual Peanut Festival

Date: October 3 & 4, 2015
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Peanuts, live entertainment, arts, crafts, peanuts, antiques, pony rides, hay ride, games, peanuts, camel rides, live bluegrass, country & gospel music, and did we say peanuts? Over 250 vendors and a farm museum with a large display of antique tractors and farm related equipment - and peanuts - make this a fun family adventure.

Bring a lawn chair and stay all day at the Festival of Native American Arts & Crafts. There will be inter-tribal dancing, arts & crafts, story telling, a living history village and Native American drumming.

15th Annual Havana Pumpkin Festival

This child-friendly fall festival begins with a pancake breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and includes hay rides, pony rides, face painting, arts & crafts and food booths, a costume contest, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin sales, storytelling, train rides, games, clowns, an obstacle course, and lawn mower parade.

31st Annual Oktoberfest

From accordion players to carnival rides and sausage eating contests, this Uber-Strassen-Fest is a bit of old Germany on the Gulf Coast. While local musicians play polka music, a huge selection of beers are available for sampling. There's also plenty to keep the little ones busy at this family-friendly event. Don't miss it, from the ceremonial tapping of the kegs at 4:00 p.m. Friday to the Oom-Pah-Pah band concerts.

39th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival

Date: October 16-18, 2015

Three days of nationally known country music artists and tons of fresh seafood make this one of the most popular seafood festivals anywhere. What began as a way of honoring the mullet, that fish that just can't help jumping into your boat, has become one of the nation's top country music festivals. There'll also be arts & crafts, carnival rides, children's activities and over 4 tons of mullet served smoked or friend, along with a wide variety of country, cajun and other cookin'.

Chautauqua Vineyards & Winery Annual Harvest Festival

What says fall better than a harvest festival? This annual celebration of grapes and wine on the grounds of Chautauqua Vineyards and Winery includes arts and crafts vendors, a BBQ cook-off, live music and a classic car cruise-in. The winery will be open for tasting and tours. It's a great way to enjoy the fall weather and the fruits of the harvest.

Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival

Date: October 17, 2015

Once again brew lovers will gather at the Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin for this annual salute to suds and ales. Over 200 domestic and international craft beers will be tapped, popped open and poured for tasting. Brewery representatives will be on hand to discuss brew methods and different types of lagers and ales, and a retail tent will offer various beers for sale. Enjoy live music all day as well.

8th Annual Art & Wine Weekend

St. Marks Stone Crab Festival

Date: October 24, 2015
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Where: At the end of Highway 363 south in St. Marks (about 20 miles south of Tallahassee)

"R" months are shellfish months and this October event is right on target. Join over 12,000 people munching on stone crab claws at this annual tribute to the delicious fresh-from-the-gulf crustacean. October 15 in the start of stone crab season and historic St. Marks celebrates in style with a parade, live music, food, arts and crafts, children's activities and lots of fresh stone crabs.

27th Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival

Date: October 24, 2015

This annual day-long family event is a great way to learn about butterflies and see these beautiful creatures up close. Activities include butterfly tagging demonstrations, exhibits, speakers, nature walks, crafts and a photo booth.
